Suehirodori is located on Jhongjheng Road, which was known during the Japanese Occupation Period as “Suehiro Area Road”. During that era, Japanese-style European houses lined the road in an attempt to recreate an atmosphere of prosperity and elegance similar to the Ginza neighborhood in Tokyo.
As you approach Suehirodori, you will be welcomed by a wide lobby. This reflects the name “Suehiro”, which means “from little to large”. The high ceiling and split floor design, and the parapets that resemble the design of Hayashi Department Store are all impressive structural features. The tatami straw mats are custom ordered from the old tatami store Cyuansing that has been in business for more than 60 years.
Lay down on the pillows and memory mattress and look up at the Nordic ceiling and windows. Along with a 100-inch screen and Pioneer family theatre system, you can relax and enjoy your personal movie theatre until the sun comes up.
We want to carry on the aristocratic spirit of old Tainan and recreate Tainan’s old Suehirodori. If you wish to experience the memories, culture, and tastes of Tainan during a bygone era, come to Suehirodori!
